What games are you looking forward to in 2019?

2019 is finally here and a lot of new games are coming with it. I, along with a plethora of other gamers, are looking forward to each and every games’ release date so we can finally play our favorite games. Today, we’re going to be looking at a few new games set to release this year and go over some different reasons on why you need to be first in line to pick them up.

Kingdom Hearts 3

One of the more underrated games on this list is going to released this month, and its fan-base can’t wait. Kingdom Hearts has been such a popular game series ever since it was released, bringing skilled Final Fantasy protagonists and fun-loving Disney characters together to create something awesome. The Kingdom Hearts series has been around ever since 2010 and its captured the hearts of both children and grown adults (Shoutout to my Spanish teacher who has a Kingdom Hearts poster in his classroom). Kingdom Hearts was one of the first games of its kind to implement the ability to control how you level up. Choosing to level up attack and strength, magic, or health, it brought a new aspect to the gaming world. It is set to release on January 29 of this year, so go to your local gaming store and be sure to snag a copy!

Anthem
Anthem

This one was a given and there are multiple reasons why. Red Dead Redemption II was one of the best selling games of 2018. It even outsold Red Dead Redemption in only 12 days and that game has been out for over 7 years! It had the second biggest opening weekend of all time, selling $725 million worth of copies in its first 3 days. It has a ground-breaking 60 hours of solo player gameplay and has recently added a multiplayer mode so you can saddle up with your friends. Few games can stack up to this Wild West thriller, and the ones that can are still missing key parts that make this game so great. So great in fact, that it was nominated for Game of the Year.

Gears of War 5
Gears of War 5

Undoubtedly one of the most famous game series of all time, Gears of War is picking up in a new spot. Instead of following the storyline of manly protagonist JD Phoenix, The Coalition and Microsoft Studios have decided to focus on his female sidekick Kait. A unique move by both companies could certainly prove to be a good one, and we all hope it does. This will also add another chapter to the Gears of War Esports experience, as the community hasn’t seen a new game in over 2 years. The release date of GOW5 is still to be announced and is still staying Xbox and PC exclusive (Sorry PS4 fans).

The Last of Us 2

If you’re a fan of the amazing role-playing zombie game The Last of Us, then get ready for the second installment that is sure to through some info into the storyline. The Last of Us was one of the most popular games in 2013 and is still revered as one of Playstation’s greatest titles of all time. Fast-forward 6 years later, and players are as eager to play the new title as they were the old one. You’ll still be following the adventure of Ellie and Joel as they journey through the zombie infested wasteland. If you don’t know the original storyline, I highly suggest you purchase the game or watch a youtuber play it online. It is definitely worth the play. The Last of Us 2’s release date is still to be announced, but Playstation fans are still dreaming about what the gameplay will reveal!
