Did you get these games under your Christmas Tree?

With it being Christmas Eve, it can go unsaid that this year has had some pretty spectacular games. All of which you want to see under that tree. I mean, who doesn’t want to see COD Black Ops 4 in their stocking? To really understand what games you’re getting(or wished Santa was bringing you), I’m going to be going over the best games of 2018 and why those games are the ones you want to see wrapped up in a box with a bow on top.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

One of the more recent releases is definitely going to be one of the most hyped and best games of this year. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is the next game in the Super Smash Bros. series and, in my opinion, is one of the best games in the series. Being able to play as any Super Smash character you want is amazing, and with Nintendo adding a few new faces, it makes it even better. Right now, it’s only for the Nintendo Switch, but who knows? Mario, Sonic, Kirby, and many of the other playable heroes and villains may make an appearance to other consoles (And I personally really hope they do).

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Red Dead Redemption II
Red Dead Redemption II

This one was a given and there are multiple reasons why. Red Dead Redemption II was one of the best selling games of 2018. It even outsold Red Dead Redemption in only 12 days and that game has been out for over 7 years! It had the second biggest opening weekend of all time, selling $725 million worth of copies in its first 3 days. It has a ground-breaking 60 hours of solo player gameplay and has recently added a multiplayer mode so you can saddle up with your friends. Few games can stack up to this Wild West thriller, and the ones that can are still missing key parts that make this game so great. So great in fact, that it was nominated for Game of the Year.

Spider-Man
Spider-Man

There’s no way I could leave out Peter Parker and his amazing Superhero counterpart, Spider-man. Sadly, this game is only for PS4 at the moment, but many gamers dream of a day that it might come to other platforms. Spider-man was one of the most anticipated games of 2018 and has already released a few DLCs that have players super excited. You play as the web-slinger himself and are able to parkour, web-ify your enemies, and battle some of Spider-man’s most iconic villains, such as Doctor Octopus. This game is a must have for Marvel fans and casual gamers alike!
